The BD process relies heavily on constant collaboration among members of our firm, infused by feedback from our clients. We believe that two heads are better than one and that a collaborative process yields the most delightful and effective designs. Our design discussions are characterized by talking and scribbling openly about ways to make each design the best it can be.
We begin our process by getting to know our clients and honing in on the major themes and needs of the project. These requirements will direct the trajectory of the project throughout the entire course of its development. Together with our clients, we test different alternatives to make sure the priorities of the project are being met. We believe that iterative exploration is the best way to ensure that our design solutions are as beautiful and functional as possible.

Back in our studio, we work together to develop and refine the design through hand sketching, digital drafting, and 3D digital modeling. As a project matures, we use working drawings of increasing complexity to communicate our ideas to our clients, get their feedback, and make important design decisions. BD is unique in that we typically follow a project all the way from site analysis, programming, and schematic design through construction documentation and administration, ensuring that the themes and needs identified at the beginning of the project are inherent in the final product.
